Putnam County Emergency Medical Services began in 1976. Its main mission involved providing quality and dependable Emergency ambulance services to the citizens of Putnam County. Though we have continued the addition of citizen based services, our primary mission is high quality, dependable emergency medical service throughout Putnam County.
Presently our agency offers five (5) fully staffed advanced life support (ALS), blanketing the region to allow for an immediate response to your critical call for help. The State Health Department thoroughly inspects each emergency unit on an annual basis. Furthermore, our unit offers the most advanced technology available.
Most residents are very familiar with the gleaming gold & white vehicles that can be seen about Putnam County. Licensed by the state of West Virginia, the Advanced Life Support Units (ALS) are fully equipped to provide the highest standard of pre-hospital emergency care. All on board are highly trained Paramedics and EMT's. These individuals undergo vigorous training and continuing education to be able to offer Putnam County citizens the best possible services. Response time average to 10 minutes throughout Putnam County.
